I don't think it can be stopped because the earth has been warming up for a long time. Al Gore won't tell you this, but many Alaskan glaciers that were mapped in the 1820s were gone by 1900. There are many warming signs like this. North America was still coming out of an ice age only 12,000 years ago. The warm up isn't a steady and predictable one, it has variations that can be seen over centuries of evidence. Not just temperature readings over 40 years. The earth has cooled down and warmed up many, many times in the past. We know that by the remains of plant life on the continents.

Who say's there is a problem? Most of what is happening is natural occurences. Volcano's dump more sulpher, chlorines and other chemicals into the atmosphere than man ever could. It would take a worldwide effort to change enough to make any difference. And the cost will be enormous, mostly being passed on to the niave consumer. The price of your gas will double. As long as the oil barons run this country and the politicians don't look for much effort being put into alternative fuels and higher standards for fuel economy. It's all about money.Don't be fooled by everything you read. The earth can and will heal itself long after you and I are gone.

That is until we are hit by a large asteroid and life on earth as we know it ceases to exist.

Have a nice day!

You are young...you dont realize yet this is just the latest on a long list of "imminent global catastrophes"... at the rate our population is growing and the advancement towards the nuclear era of the "excitable crowd" a few degrees increase in temperature is among the least of our concerns as a species. You want to make global warming disappear? Take away the research money.

First of all, get rid of that anthropocentricism taught to you by the theology of yours. Man is neither the principal creation, nor is he at the apex of Gods creation, as it is said that God creatd man in hihs own image. Most likely, man might have ceated God in the self esteem of man, as Ludwig Feurback puts it.

with the shift from Anthropocentricism, it must become possible for man that all living beings are equal, and nno one has an edge over the other. World and nature, equally belongs to all living as well non living beings. This is precisely what the Indian Philosophy teaches. Who asked man to over populate himself and fill the world, even in areas which are hostile to human? so man created an imbalance in a big way by becoming more in numbes, and iinfesting every where. Nature lost balance, and there began environmental problems. over and above, man did not find peace among mena themselves, and warred, polluted and destroyed the nature. Now what is the use of simple crying?

I should say the problem is too complicated to give a full answer here. That said, I would start by devising some proof that the problem exist, one so very convincing that even skeptics would accept as true. So long as this proof does not exist, there will be some who will not cooperate in fixing this problem.

The $andman knows. I try to live right, for my environment. The warming/cooling cycles are a great distraction from issues we can effect. Have you ever seen a con man play the shell game?

I dont think anything can be done to stop it.We may be able to slow it down but stopping it will kill worlds economy. As leaving it will kill worlds people. They say in a hundred years or so the eastcoast of the United states will be starting to flood as in underwater.

Dump Bush and the oilgarchy and get serious about renewable energy Ethanol,Hydrogen,Solar,Wind,Fusion, and others yet unknown. Global warming is the result of profiteering and can be slowed if not reversed if we take it seriously

End subsidies, so the oil companies have to start charging the realistic market-based prices for their goods. That'll jumpstart a move to alternatives.

Can't...It's a natural occurance, exascerbated by man...we can only prepare for the inevitable....
