okay, if i wanted to know if it was opposite day and i said to a guy
"hey is today opposite day?"
and they answered
"no"
how would i know if it WAS opposite day and they were saying the opposite of the real answer, or if it actually WASNT opposite day and they were actually saying the real answer to my question?

if it WAS opposite day: they would be saying
"yes it IS opposite day"

if it WASNT opposite day: "no it's not opposite day"
HOW CAN I TELL THE DIFFERENCE?????????

but wait,

what if that person answered
"yes"
???

ON OPPOSITE DAY:
they would actually [if it WAS opposite day] be saying
"no it is NOT opposite day"

NOT ON OPPOSITE DAY:
they would be telling me [if it WASNT opposite day]
"yes it IS opposite day"
then they would be lying

You really sound confusing but I will say that an opposing day of an opposing day is always the opposing of opposing.

Now things seem a bit more clarified.

I don't think the rule applies to the "Is it opposite day?" I'm pretty sure it is socially acctepted by everyone to say yes and actually mean it for the event. So if you ask and they say yes, then it is actually opposite day.

Since today is always the opposite of yesterday, it is always the opposite day, whether you know it or not.

It is never opposite day. If you say it is opposite day then it will be the reverse and won't be opposite day. If you say it isn't opposite day then it is not opposite day and you will not be saying the opposite.
