I'm doing research for a term paper on human potential and self-actualization and would like some suggestions on other search terms I can use. I've used "human potential" and "self-actualization". Do any of you have any other suggestions for search terms I could use?

You are talking about human growth, and self-awareness that leads to self-determination. Many of us have turning points that act as catalysts for our lives to go from being reactive to being dominated by deliberate action. Our conscious decisions keep us from being pawns that are shuffled around by outside forces. Realistically a great deal of our lives is not under our control, but facing life, putting aside the fear of failure, and setting out an a specific plan with personal goals is a way of growing in awareness and development. Choosing the act on, rather than be acted on, not abandoning responsibility is necessary to explore our potential.

Choosing deliberate awareness is key to growth.

What you do with the knowledge you acquire determines your measure as a human being.

HOW IN THE WORLD, are you attempting to portray these terms.

That are at, opposing ends of 'Human or Self' Characterisations.

Human potential amounts to. Some, 'Contention or Argument' between parties-even if those parties consist of the Conscious and Sub-Conscious. About 'Whether or Not', a person has the ability of reaching a certain goal.

Self Actualisation, on the other hand. Is purely, attaining some Self Imposed goals. Of course, those goals are self imposed, imaginary or figuratively entertained.

BE YOURSELF.... we live in societies that force oppinions upon us.. from religions that proclaim we are evil just for being born, to the plastic people's version of beauty... it seems that everyone tries to make us feel guilty for the natural gift of life we were given... not everyone is meant to be six foot blond .... all productive roles in society are done by those not obsessed or capable of being that... religions discourage us by insisting that our natural selves are not good enough... it's a battle to just be yourself... we need confidence and acceptance that sometimes is hard to find when we just be ourselves.. We each of us have a role to play in society.. there is no such thing as JUST being a mother, a stay at home wife.... another way of looking at it is when the president or priminister of a country take a month long vacation rarely do we seem to notice or care but if the local garbage man were to do it, or mail man, or corner store owner would close down for a month we notice... it's the little jobs that keep society going... WE are all important to our societies.. we all develop with different abilities to keep society functioning.. WE all have value... we just need to be reminded occationally... real, regular people keep the world turning,, not the big wigs...or self defined important .. not the famous who seem to have more than their share of idolation... the little people make the world go round. so BE YOURSELF... means to reach a productive potential...
