In today's world of weapons of mass destruction, religious fundamentalists represent the greatest threat to humanity. I don't just mean in the Middle East, but also in the US where most of the population believe in God, Jesus and the second coming. Even religious moderates give credence to the fanatical fundamentalists simply because they have similar beliefs in the supernatural.

Religion is an irrational, desire for something better than nature and for which there is absolutely no evidence. Religions are new to the human race, newer than language, music and agriculture; they are memes that have evolved; ideas that inspire great works of art; ideas that also incite man's inhumanity to man. Yes, we probably would be better off without religion, but its ingrained into peoples minds; people fearful of death and who find fanciful stories about an after life comforting. Religious people are taught not to question their religion, not to think rationally, not to look for evidence or the lack of it. So most religious people go through the motions of worship without really thinking what it is they are doing when they pray to an invisible God for whom there is absolutely no evidence.

The world is a dangerous place, and religions make it more so. The trouble is most religious people don't see it that way; they only think of themselves and the comfort their religion brings them. Or they go through the motions because they believe that belief in God has only good consequences.

Someone once said that world peace cannot exist if Religion is still in effect.

But it's not religion that's bad, it's people taking **** the wrong way because of a book.

I don't mind or hate Christians, you can be whatever you want to be, but when you start wanting to cure "Gayness' instead of Cancer, the real message of "GOD" flies by your head.

So to answer your question, I don't know, I really don't, But I can say that there are good Christians who make the world a better place, religion is the bad aftertaste of "God" that people think is truth.

Yes, you're right on that, "Peace" is what we need most of all to unite us. If only every religion would realize it is the same God we are praying to!

Anyways, we're heading in the direction of "Oneness" as we enter a new era of world consciousness. The separation caused by exclusive religions is fast fading. Life is One.

We can see in the younger generations how there is more of working together, co-operation, and unity to support a single cause. It won't matter that much whether you believe in one God or two or which belief you subscribe to, it is the demonstration of goodwill, love and caring for others that will help move the world forward.

My two cents.

Absolutely not.

If everyone in the world attempted to cast off religion, it would greatly displease the Chaos Gods to such an extent that they may intervene in our plane just to satiate their desires of the human emotion. You see, the Chaos Gods were created with the first humans' emotions, and will cease t exist with human's emotions. Khorne, the God of War, requires religion as the major basis of fighitng worldwide to keep him content and not cause the Rapture, as it may be called by the misled. Regardless of this, Nurgle will ultimately hold sway over the tangible human bodies, as he is the God of Disease and Death. His plans do not matter so much either though, when put in comparison with those of the oldest Chaos God, Tzeentch. Tzeentch's plotting and scheming as the Chaos God of scheming and plotting (among being the changer of ways, and the guider of fate) is for his own personal gain. It is because of Tzeentch that right now our world does not yet worship the Chaos Gods. It is because of Tzeentch that we do not all believe in peace, and it is also because of Tzeentch that you posted this question. Neither you nor I can comprehend the ends or the means of Tzeentch and his plans, but everything that has ever happened, is happening, or will happen, is all part of the grand scheme of Tzeentch's plotting.

This concept is hard to understand, yes, but you will eventually understand that anything is for the doing of Tzeentch and cannot be changed, or Tzeentch would change it.

A poor choice of word, I suppose. I understand the question, but I'd not call that practice of peace a religion. Since religion is defined as the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, esp. a personal God or gods. How about we call it an 'ideal' to live by?

To answer your question. Yes, organized religions should be abolished. We don't need their dull dogma as well as their ancient bibles, which consist of thousands of pages, to teach us how to live our lives. If I were to write my own bible, the first and only page would say: "Love all people and yourself equally." Just one sentence adequately conveys the idea of peace.

The world would not be a better place without religion, let me tell you why.

all religious are retarded right? Because they believe in bullshit, and are followers. Sheeps in other words.

The only thing stopping them idiots to do atrocities and live a relax life without anxiety is because of god, dying isnt the end, paradise/hell.

Imagine these idiots WITHOUT religions, without hell as persecutor...without meaning of life (death=end) .. These idiots would destroy our planet with crimes and much more, because, they do not believe in anything except in themselves... (Only idiots) but then again, only idiots follow religions. So no, we need religion.. its our operating system for these guys. Its a guard. A mind peace.

i think of a few human beings somewhat do want prepared faith, it variety of feels this is all which could save them from being a no longer-so-large individual. Granted, I do think of that this is variety of unhappy that some desire a guidebook so as that they understand standard precise from incorrect, and the guidebook instills worry in them that in the event that they do no longer obey, they bypass to a foul place. human beings must be larger than that, yet on the tip of the day, if that's what makes their life greater useful, hi i'm for it. additionally, i think of that many human beings bypass to an prepared church no longer because of the fact they have faith each thing it truly is taught to them, yet because of the fact this place and a few of this is ideals help that individual to locate themselves and connect with God. i'm professional-something that enables a individual locate their faith and their solutions. I additionally agree that faith has been used as a reason of warfare for hundreds of years. yet lower back, so have many different issues.nonetheless greater have been murdered in the call of God than the different. this is the character of a few and we can not replace that, whether prepared faith did no longer exist there might nonetheless be many that should warfare. somewhat carry business enterprise to our ideals and want that balances the size. placed your hand out to assist the place you are able to, to alter the place you are able to and stay something of your life completely.
