Love in a way is a weakening of oneself.
Femininity in nature is the weaker (or less aggressive) side of human coin.
While masculinity is the stronger or aggressive side.
So love, which in it's pure form is non-aggressive and non-possessive, doesn't fit the masculine absorbed man, until he is able to be secure with his sexuality and confront his internal balance.

that it's the natural state of a woman to define herself in terms of a man, whereas it's the natural state of a man to define himself in terms of his accomplishments. If a woman falls in love, no biggie, we all expected that. Witness the blatherings over Edward.
Whereas a man falling in love carries the phrase "another one bites the dust"...

It is in the nature of woman to love. It is not in the nature of man to love. For man to find love, he goes against his basic nature and therefore questions himself and his purpose...to a point of shame.
