Question:
Do you think GOD will help us at the time of recession or he wants us to help our self.?

Little Johnny was laying about on a hillock in the middle of a meadow on a warm spring day. Puffy white clouds rolled by and he pondered their shape.

Soon, he began to think about God. "God? Are you really there?" Johnny said out loud.

To his astonishment a voice came from the clouds. "Yes, Johnny? What can I do for you?" Seizing the opportunity, Johnny asked, "God? What is a million years like to you?"

Knowing that Johnny could not understand the concept of infinity, God responded in a manner to which Johnny could relate, "A million years to me, Johnny, is like a minute."

"Oh," said Johnny. "Well, then, what's a million dollars like to you?"

"A million dollars to me, Johnny, is like a penny."

"Wow!" remarked Johnny, getting an idea. "You're so generous...can I have one of your pennies because at the time of recession my parents have reduced my pocket money?"

God replied, "Sure thing, Johnny! Just a minute."

Sweet story!!!

According to me god helps those who try to help themselves and when in certain circumstances when our help for ourselves do not help then God does lend a helping hand.

" Once a troubled man was crossing a bridge, he asked god to help him. But god didn't come. He got very angry and with lots of trouble and pain he crossed the bridge. And when he crossed he saw that God was holding the broken bridge on the other side."

God's ways are amazing!!!

What recession....the one being promoted by the Federal Resrve, a group of private bankers who sell paper money to the US government (and are working hard on trying to control the world economy). Is that the one you mean? The one that is being promoted by the media organizations of Earth, sponsored by the drug companies of Earth who are actually owned by .....the same bankers who own the Federal Reserve?

Guess what, if you don't listen to the radio or media then there is no recession. Income comes from production. Money is a symbol used to represent completed production; products and services.

No amount of printing money will ever bring a product or service into existence, hence printing more money is the method by which the USA Govenrment, under direction of the Federal Reserve will further cripple the World economy for its own vested interests. Welcome to the World!

Definitely the latter. For, He created us with all goodness inherent. It is we who have abandoned the good qualities on account of the overwhelming greed, avarice, jealousy, oneupmanship, hegemonism etc.

Recession is due to one or more of the factors aforementioned. In the name of free enterprise and free trade, allurements were bandied out to a large number of small persons and the accretion of wealth so aligned in the name of globalisation has been looted by a small number of avaricious lot.

Articificial magnification of asset values, discouragement of savings, securitisation of portfolios, derivative trades, commodity trade kite-flying et al are the symptoms of the deep-rooted malignant tumour of avarice. Recession is the result. Treating the outward symptoms by syndication would not cure the malady.

Significantly, the nations whose economy is largely of traditional vocations, where family values hold and where savings is the motto of life, are the least affected by the recession. Ostentatiousness, unbridled consumerism financed recklessly by

financial intermediaries forgetting that funds at their disposal are in trust for other people, lobbying by vested interests to encourage spending without any relation to repayment capacity and a general amoral attitude that does not consider debts as pious obligation and a host of others are prevalent in some so called 'advanced' societies, and these can by no stretch of imagination be connected remotely to any divine design. The wrong-doers, individuals, corporations, and governments have to realise their follies, regret therefor with remorse and engage themselves in the task of re-building and reparations, with a conviction of atonement for their sins. Such efforts, if made sincerely will definitely evoke Divine Direction.

Sweet story. But only God can help us. I don't want to come off as some religious fanatic Bible-thumping rube, but we are in our last days. I simply look at it for what it is. Everything that was foretold is coming true. Man has screwed the world up beyond all repair and only God can help us now.

When God creates a human being, he instills in him intelligence and prudence to live life of happiness, with all other beings of this universe. This means that no man is an island to live out his/her life in selfishness. We must use and only use that much needed. Over use of anything, including money comes out of greed and one man's greed put all others around him/her in crisis. ( eg.the Madoff). The present recession (economic) is due to the greed of certain countries. They forgot the fact that the wealth entrusted to them by God was not only for them, but for other economically backward nations also have to helped.

There is no questions of waiting for a visible divine or for God to work a miracle to solve the present world economic crisis. On the other hand we must be able to see the invisible miracles worked by God in our everyday life. GOD, EVERYDAY HELPS US SO THAT WE CAN HELP OURSELVES. Men have to reflect that how responsible are they with the resources. We are here not to finish of everything and leave nothing for the generations that follow us. Instead use the resources with responsibliy and help ourselves with the help of God. Therefore I would say that God will help them who are ready to help themselves and others. Thank you.

Translating in God's terms that 1 min = 1 million years. then it means that Johnny will never get it from God.

"God helps those who help themselves."

If God is..... and if He is what His believers claim he is, wouldn't he want us to help not ourselves but each other out of this mess?

I once heard a little parable like yours. I think from a Catholic lady... I'll try to recount it as best I remember....

In a vision of hell, Saint Fred of Gassit, (patron saint of traffic offences) witnessed the dammed seated at a great, sumptuous feast. Each was the victim of one hideous physical deformity. Every lost one of them had forearms two meters long. Each cried piteously as they starved, unable to feed themselves. No matter how they tried they could not bring the aromatic and delicious food to their mouths. No matter how they tried, they could not reach nor drop food nor drink to themselves. They suffered the eternal torment of Tantalus. With their plaintive cries ringing in his ears, and their tormented, emaciated faces clouding his vision, Saint Fred begged the Angel of the Lord to have mercy and free them. But the spirit thundered...... "God's Judgment is Just and Eternal!"

At that moment the Saintly Fred, purveyor of holy relica and motorcycle speeding tickets was mystically transported to Heaven to witness the Joy Of The Redeemed. Only he beheld the same Judgement! Here each and every soul also suffered the same crippling disfigurement, and sat at the same feast. But instead, here were tears of laughter and cries of rapturous delight as each guest fed his neighbour!

Very nice story.

Yes certainly

In my life God extended HIS helping hand spontaneously several times just before my about to fall. He waited till the last minute and watched whether I sincerely put my effort or not.

Miracle and true.

Unless God can print money we're in this on our own i'm afraid. This is caused by human weaknesses and no spiritual intervention will make a difference.

God helps us or not does not matters to me. But i am always looking ways to help God clear this problem.

By the way recession belongs this materialistic world, so why do you expect "the department of spirituality" to save this materialistic mess.
