For humans this is a good question.... concerning other humans! "Universal" greetings are simply not known. How humans greet one another could be far different than all the rest of the lifeforms in the universe do.

If THEY all do it differently than we, then we'd be the oddballs that wouldn't fit into the majority which is typically the case (majority rules) when determining and defining the term "universal".

Now, if you've used the term "universal" as a reference to sayyyy Universal Studios in Hollyweird, CA...... Most likely it would be some form of a "grunt" in passing.... (unless someone is sucking up to get something they want).

Greetings or The universal greeting is a short phrase made up of words without any apparent meaning used by Kup and Hot Rod in Transformers: The Movie to greet alien transforming robots. The origin of the universal greeting is never explained

I'd always been told the Universal Greeting was giving someone the bird. I think a smile is much better, tho.

Ba weep granna weep ninny bang.

It's probably a joke made up of a fake alien language; like a robot.

"Bah weep graaagnah wheep ni ni bong!

A friendly smile. It means its OK to move forward, I'm nice, It's OK to ask me something. A reason for the other person not to be afraid of you.

Smile and wave with the right hand. (since waiving with the left is offensive in some cultures)

A big smile !!!!!!

You don't need to speak the language of the person you're greeting.
