Question:
Have you ever done the "wrong" thing but for the "right" reasons?
2009-09-18 03:16:59 UTC
Is it better and would you rather do the "right" thing for the wrong reasons or would you do the "wrong" thing for the "right" reasons?
Have you ever done the wrong thing for the right reason and what happened?

(I don't mean illegal things breaking the law, I mean morally right or wrong, that sort of thing).

This is a very complex question. And so far I dont see many people that have answered this having put any thought into it.

You say that you dont mean breaking the law. But the law is often morally wrong, like for instance labelling middle eastern people as potential terrorist. The propaganda in the media is so much these days that we dont need to worry about planes being hijacked so much as our minds being hijacked relentlessly with pro-war idealisms.

To answer your question as simply as possible, I think morally wrong and right is hard to define these days. It may be morally right to inform the law that there is a vagrant in your neighbourhood according to society. But according to your conscience it may be morally wrong to dob that person in if he is just harmlessly trying to get by in life and just is going through a very bad moment and wants to be left alone.

So is it better to do something that is morally right for the wrong reasons? Or something morally wrong for the right reasons? What you need to analyse is wrong and right to whom? To you? To the law? To society? To a family member? A best friends?

There will always be winners and losers in this game of life. But what you need to remember is your intent. If for instance you knew of a friend harboring innocent Jew fugitives back in Nazi Germany circa 1940s. Then it would be morally wrong to notify the government. But lawfully right. If you informed the government because you are blindly following the law, and you believe the government is infallible, then you did wrong but for the right reasons.

However if you knew the government is doing wrong and you did it to say further your career, then you did a right thing for the wrong reasons. But life is always filled with these ironies, so ultimately it comes down to your basic idealogies, and if you sell out to a higher authority out of fear, which itself may be corrupted already. Always go with your core beliefs, and not what others say, be it peer/social pressure, family pressure, or the law. As none of these are fullproof compasses on morality.

Unless you can justify your actions, you are acting randomly or you are not in control of the situation. There are always choices and opportunities for those who look for them.

I recently had to something that was 'wrong for the right reasons'

Wrong because people were hurt and bridges burnt, but it was the right thing to do because the only alternative would have been worse in the long run.

in line with threat it relatively is a weak spot on my area, yet often times I lean heavily on specific scriptures from the bible that have the skill, in my innovations, to decrease for the time of the dogma and lay out the simplicity it relatively is in Christ. "In Christ" could probable be defined as many think of it means Jesus. "Christ in you the wish of glory" relatively has no longer something to do with that in the time of any respect. besides, The scripture is for this reason, "worry no longer little flock, for it relatively is the daddy's stable excitement to furnish you the keys to the dominion." easily everyone accessible it relatively is attempting to understand and is trustworthy of their seek isn't denied. You ask for a fish, you will no longer take transport of a serpent. I see no situations positioned on "knock and it would be opened unto you" different than those you discover in Christian dogma. worry in this actual realm is a sprint unsettling because of the fact it has to do with a launch of chemical components into the innovations and with survival; it rapidly impacts our bodies, attracts our interest to this earthly tomb, yet is break free what makes us worry. worry on an more advantageous point is interior the comparable way a defend yet, because it relatively is right here, it could provide no probability to us. variety of like the Proverb, "the phobia of the Lord is the start of understanding." it relatively is healthful and a needed catalyst for our non secular progression right here. Our minds are caught up in a persistent technique of proceeding and doubting. those additionally are continuously buffeted via the soul's sturdy affirmations. it relatively is the job of regeneration and it implies we are able to probable fall flat on our face many many situations till now we income the potential to have eyes like the fire and a face like the lightning. confident.. i understand the earlier abode. embody the regulation of life and life symbolized via the Phoenix. It facilitates to remind your self of the deficiency of the sensual realm. carry your worry like a jewel on your pocket. we would be wonderful. Very quickly, the waters will sparkling. those rods of vibration jammed into the earth via the blue persons are doing their interest.
