not the skin of us, not what we wear, what we look like, but what we think, and if thats the case, then does that mean we really die, because our thoughts are always passed through generation to generation, small or big, like albert einstein, yes we might never see him again physically, but his thoughts have helped push man kind, and they are still around today, so is it our thoughts that really are what we are? our energy?

I am thought - High Thoughts, the word of determining will to perpetuate. I am inherent even in 'nothingness' as the concept of that state to define it. If it was not for thought the spirit and the cognizance - generic conscience - nothing could have been conceived or created. Had it not been for thought you would never think about the question. It is thought that made us, and thought goes into every new creation. You in turn put your thought into what you create. There is an energy field every where there is consciousness - including the brain, and that energy cannot be created or destroyed. It just is. No one created the intelligence in the computer. We utilize the available formulas. Peace

Without our brain to process the thoughts and all we are and do we would not be.We are the sum of all the things we do ,see, think, ,feel, ect.Think of the brain as the computor that runs the whole machine we call the body .The essence of man is the breath that makes us a living being/spirit.Acting on the thoughts and our actions make us human and we are influenced by everyone we come in contact with and everything around us has an impact on the total person. So just to have a thought would mean nothing without the brain and all the other parts to put them in action.

It's attitude, resillency, life choices and life experiences and even societal experiences who fashion who we are, not just thoughts. We have millions of thoughts every day, some we act on , some we don't and the ones we don't are probably the ones that are anti social in most cases.

You are responsible though for the most part on how you choose to live your life. You can choose to be a victim and be reactionary, negative and whine and complain how it's not fair and you deserve this or that . Or you can choose to be proactive, participate fully in life , resillient in overcoming boundaries and societal system discrimination, but the choice is up to you and what you do with the experiences you have.

Well Descartes said famously, "I think therefore I am" He was referring to the smallest aspect of life he could find. The only way he knew he existed was because he could think enough to answer the question.

As far as what we are I would say we are more than our thoughts. In fact our thoughts are like that out of control monkey in the room controlling us. If we can still our mind and control our thoughts we can get in touch with our higher consciousness. This is was meditations in many religions are trying to achieve. Supposedly this is also similar to what happens in near death experiences. People describe an "all loving bright light". I would argue that this is what we are, a "soul" for lack of a better word. Maybe a consciousness would be a better way?

So to sum things up I would say we are not our thoughts but our thoughts are an out of control tool of our human vessel that is controled by our true selves, our consciousness.

A collective "We" has nothing to do with it. Conversations do not think. Moreover, it was precisely this thoughtless energy that Einstein surmounted with rarified stillness that better characterizes the thinking individual, who is, not incidentally, radically free from the choking influence of your nonsense.

We are all moved by something. Thoughts are what moves us. Our wants and fears come together to move us and limit us. When we see that we have no reason to fear striving for our desires it allows us to act. Our actions and words are what others see and it is what defines who we are I their minds. To them it is who we really are. Our thoughts do shape us, I'm living proof.

My life used to be about me trying get to please the world, but I felt the world hated me. My actions in my life were unnatural. I was obvious to others, it affect my posture, I was a mess. I had so many limiting thoughts, negative thoughts about how worthless I was and how the world would be better off without me. When I learned to nip all my negative thoughts in the bud my outlook on life changed. I stopped focusing on people in a negative frame and began to see people and myself in a positive way. My life changed for the better. You really are your thoughts.

Our thoughts definitely make who we are and what we destine ourselves to become. Thoughts are used as ideas and the ideas are made into constructive matter. Without them we would not enjoy the things that were created by mankind such as transportation, hi-tech devices, clothing, medicine, vitamins, food, etc.

i think of, whilst one will become conscious approximately ones very own concept technique, one realizes that neither you will forcefully administration ones ideas nor the ideas can administration ones mind and know-how and the technique is rather the way ones ideas works. even though it rather is a danger to bypass previous or improve above the concept technique via the meditation and this occurs whilst one will become conscious concerning to the gaps in between the adjoining ideas and makes use of those gaps to journey that which exists previous ideas.

Its everything. Everything makes us what we are. Our experiences, upbringings, beliefs, views, we imple are what we are.how we deal with situations, how we percieve those around us. who we are-we become. we grow into them. we learn and simply be. every generation is different obviously because of the advancements, but like i said, we grow and become. now, i took a psychology class and there are different schools of thought, that who we are is determined by genes, or way of thinking, etc. there are 16 source traits as well, and every person is different.

Our thoughts make us who we are.

The Bible says, "For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he. . ." (Proverbs 23:7).

Yes, we do really die, but our souls live on for eternity. Our thoughts are passed on throughout the generations through tradition, writings, etc., but not our souls.

Im not a philosopher.... but what i believe is that we make thoughts... the thoughts get modified by our activities, upbringing and enviornment.

although, some of my thoughts may portray my parents' but they are my thoughts bcoz of me, bcoz i wanted those thoughts to be with me.

our thoughts do enegise us.. but only when we give them a positive outlook to feed upon. if the env. is depressing.... it takes energy to reload the thought process.

no please don't make me relive philosophy 101

ok, I answered that very question on my final exam, i donno wot i got, but i ended up with an A avg..

our thoughts are a big part of us, but if you took your mind and put it in someone else's body..would u still be you?

my argument was no. because altho i would love to be in angelina jolie's body, it wouldn't feel like me.

now, you took that idea one step further..our ideas..out there floating in space..going from person to person.

that's a neat twist on it. i like that.

kinda coincides with my science prof's idea, that when we die, our molecules get made into other things.

You are the awareness of the thoughts.

your thoughts create your life.

thoughts are energy that is sent to the universe,

and the universe mirrors it back to you.

when a person dies, thoughts stop.

if you verbalize your thought to a person who remembers it,

then it lives on.

your thoughts can be controlled...it is how we act that makes us whom we are... If you chose to act a certain way not appropriately, you have scarred your reflection... Once you crack the mirror...there is no way to fix it...

thoughts are only part of what makes us who we are another bpart is they ways we act on those thoughts!!!! personality and the people around you all effect what makes us who we are!! different things have different impacts on what makes a certain person that person.

in a little bit of sense, yes..Though we have good intentions or bad,in the end, i believe it is our deeds that confirms who trully we are as manifested by our courage and dignity.
