Is the American national anthem a bit silly and wussy?

I was having a couple vodkas with my friend Vladimir the other day and he mentioned that the US national anthem sounded a bit sissy, unlike the Russian anthem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sowpvuK-co8

I hafta say, I agree.

Or maybe the world could grow up and ditch the whole silly idea of anthems altogether.

USA's sounds like a Christmas carol but it's good not really an anthem for a war machine though. Russia's is pretty cool.



National anthems are important for history, identity, culture, story and pride in ones country, ancestors and self.



I like my own the U.K's.



EDIT - New Zealand's National Anthem is epic if very religious.
