If you do a root cause analysis, many rituals prescribed by religions were aimed at good behavior practice, not to do excess of sensory pleasure, hygiene etc. But in the process we just went on blindly following them without understanding implying reason thus becoming obsessed about religions.

What are your views ?

There is a need to identify genuine traditions & rituals.I agree with you but we have to discard certain rituals which either are out dated or they were intentionally corrupted. That root analysis is not easy to be done by every man. Some one has to do it then convince the society about their worth.

This may give birth to a new cult even.

New cults emerge out of the vices of the present one.

Exactly. Nobody knows what they're doing but they think because my mom did it and her mom did it and so on that it has to be done. I'm not a traditional person. what worked for tghem dooesn't always work for me. Especially considering the traditions were made thousands of years ago. Things are different now.

Yes well said . rituals are made by god for not only good behavior but also by doing rituals one can progress in spiritual path and due course they attain perfection and merges with god ... .but we are out of ignorance doing that to seek material pleasures ...
