Question for philosophy section . . .

You get to know what the mind and essence of a person is here on YahooAnswers through their style of questions and answers . . .Yet, you don't know what they look like.

...versus. . .

People you see in you daily life / acquaintances, and you know what they're about on the surface yet you don't truly know what they're authentically about in their mind, soul and heart.

Wouldn't it be cool to come to know a person's mind that you admire before you actually meet them?

You'd know what their essence is about within that physical body.

Physical appearance is not of importance as all beings are precious and unique. It's just knowing what a person's true inner essence is about within that physical being.

We are all physical beings behind a computer screen reflecting out aspects of our inner essence via questions and answers here on YA.

Are they smiling, grimacing, frowning, perplexed . . .?

It seems that there's some that you could almost actually visualize what they look like by their style of questions and answers.

Would their appearance, eyes and smile reflect same as their mind that's revealed through their questions and answers on YA?

Cute - my avatar with a smile right now is an approximate facsimile of me my wife says.

The inner person is more important than the physical manifestation that is seen with the eyes.

Awareness of a Higher power and Universal Realm opens the mind to a beautiful world of imagination. There are many on here impressive with their words and speech and inspire love and respect, indeed prior to seeing them. Little godly innocents carrying lights in a dark and miserable raging forum.

Some are blessed with higher consciousness and have no need to demand evidence of a God who is with them in spirit and obviously so. Others are cast into a hell of anger and resentment and find no evidence of any humanity let alone God, in one room, that is the nature of hell. The veil eye too watched Y!A and causes hell t be raised intermittently in its envy and need for attention. The people are innocent. Their task to distinguish between good and evil.

Y!A The place where heaven and hell, the Gods and the devils, the angels and their praise singers all convene and intermingle happily seeking their truth, peace and freedom.

The mind is a beautiful thing don't you think..

as you said we are physical beings, and we do smile, grimace, frown,is perplexed,we also get angry,if you look at some of our answers you could tell we are angry, with our oneliners, and insults, yes everyone of us do it..

and again you are right that how a person answers a question you could actually ,in your mind visualize this person,in more ways than one.

you are good to have realized this, not a lot of folks have, and is willing to accept and come forward with it,for being scared of insults..

you are one brave cookie.

to understand, and to be understood in return is a great thing, thank you..

i think people don't give appearances enough credit. not whether they are good looking or not but body language, facial expression and tone of voice tell you so much about someone.

with words you can miss things like sarcasm or you don't see that a topic is making someone uncomfortable. what if you spoke to me for years and we talked about everything and you thought i was really confident the way i could talk about any of my thoughts or feelings but then we met and you saw that although i always answered your questions i grimaced and was uncomfortable with lots of topics or i had never thought about the topic before and so i'm not the deep thinker you thought i was or i was just not confident enough to say i don't want to answer that? you can miss so much, or even misinterpret words.

so yes the 'inner essence' of a person as you put it is extremely important and i think the most important part of a person. but all the other things too are vital to truly know someone. words without images can just be impressions the same way images without words can be.

In the real world, you base judgement on what imput you receive...which is usually visual at first. So you do have a general expectation depending on what you see. But here, we usually get right down to it.

I still think a lot of people would be disappointed by the overwhelming humanity of some people....while others would be pleasantly surprised.

I've thought the same thing. Some people on know in person say they don't trust anyone on the Internet and think I shouldn't make internet friends but I think it's interesting. However, these friendships don't last 95% of the time---people just disappear a lot or else I drop them or they drop me. Could be computer problems or they got too busy with other things they had been neglecting.

But, it would be so nice to actually see these people we talk to. Some good friends sent me a lot of pictures and I saw them on the web cam too so that helps but I didn't have anything to send them. However, my cousin lives in their area and they visited him and he had pictures of me and my family.

How can you be sure that what you're seeing on YA is the real person? Online people don't have to be themselves. True, you might see a glimpse of the real person, but some people when they are online create a persona to hide behind. Same as people you see regularly. They might be showing a side of themselves that is nothing like who they are. Maybe they have been lying to themselves and believe they are really this personality, or maybe they feel like they need to hide who they really are to be accepted.

I think that the people who comes and join the philosophy conversations will rarely (if ever) drift in to your life as a co worker or guest at a relatives' party.

Just enjoy the conversations here and be glad that the people in here are here when you log in yourself.
