if you say it is only disguise.. maybe... because some people pretending to laugh when they are actually jealous or something...
but I know you are talking about the way we respond towards trying moments, awkward situations especially when you are down..
I read somewhere, many times, that we have to be positive, we have to be positive..so I am sure what they meant by laughter is the best medicine is the way we handle our day to day life challenges and even successes..
some people relate this as "to have faith..."
but ofcourse not the sort of hyena coyote laughter.. he he..
learn to accept it without despair...

yes i do believe laughter is the best medicine,a world famous authour once cured herself of cancer by laughing. It's better to laugh than cry,if your happy on the outside you're body is happy on the inside,if your sad your body reacts in tension, anxiety, etc, wich is no good for the nervous system.

its not always applicable but still it makes you feel relived and disguises your problems from rest of the world. still it is helpful as it helps you overcome your emotions.
so keep laughing and lead a cheerful life even if in bad times.

there may be difficulties in life but they will not be there forever.happiness will come to you; so both sad and happy times are bound to come.
