It's not a sin, it's just a matter of choice whether to deny or to be what you're heart tells you to be.

The impulses of ones heart are primarily primal drives, which may be verbalized.
Animals can barely express complexity, and we let the complexity cloud the reality.
Primal drives are enough for animals, and not enough for humans.
When a person does not temper impulses with the more tenuous aspects of conscience, tragedy often results.

Could be a sin to an extent, because as you exert so much energy into holding back the impulse, it leaks you of productive energy you could have chanelled into some other useful areas of your life. It also invites the demon of lack of concentration.

you should never be driven by your impulses, man has the ability to use logical thought processing and to make wise choices based on predicted outcomes.
