Watch your thoughts, for they become words

Choose your words, for they become actions

Understand your actions, for they become habits

Study your habits, for they will become your character

Develop your character, for it becomes your destiny.

It's not one or the other. It's a blend, a mixture, shades of gray. If you make bad choices then no matter what your fate, you will end up badly off. If you make great choices then to a large part you can cancel out your fate.

I believe that for some people, fate plays a stronger role than for others, but I don't believe that it's all one or the other.

Your question is not very clearly worded, but I can make a guess. Yes, I think that our choices do establish our fates. Our fates are not handed out to us as "chances". We make choices from early in our lifetimes, and live with the consequences all of our lives. This is a very "American" way of thinking. I know there are different cultures that believe in fate, however, and I think you may be from one of those.

Cecilia, what a good answer!

Yes, our thoughts become our reality. We are what we think.

Our thoughts can be changed. We live in the powerful present moment and we make our choices NOW. The secret is that we can CHANGE our choices NOW.

choices lead to fate, not the other way around.
