Yes, and i think everyone should idealize such rules.
Think emphatically, keep yourself in other person's place and try to realize, you'll know that honestly you don't want to practice something seriously unusual with other person because by the time you imagine being the victim of the similar practice, you never really want to experience the same in real, you'll be able to judge the outcome on equality basis and obviously feel sorry to learn the nature of practice.

This was not Confucius.
The original quote was "That which is hateful to you, do not do unto others" and it was said by Hillel the Elder, and quoted in the "Ethics of the Fathers", part of the (Jewish) Mishna.
(Jesus' famous phrase "Do unto others...." was a later adaptation of the original statement by Hillel).

I do not live my life by thinking of Confucius or his theories, but I do it by the doctrine of living for the Lord.

Of course. It's the GOLDEN RULE. ^_^
If you love life, and know how important life is to you, and if you are intelligent enough to agree that the others ALSO find importance in their life, too, then you wouldn't do to others what you know may be harmful to them. Just as you may also do to others what you know is also good for them.

Better yet: Do not do unto others what they won't bother do for themselves.
